Still in a flat world?

I do a lot of work on belief systems and their power in our lives.

This morning I decided to listen to a CD of Chris Howard on how beliefs effect money and prosperity, about ‘Stepping Into Wealth’. I attended one of his seminars a few months ago which was powerful. I will share with you some of thoughts and clarifications that hit home to me:

( He speaks of the boundaries of belief)

1. Beliefs are either Limiting or Empowering.

He explores the thinking that we believe to be true but isn’t. Like ‘facts’ we grew up with or inherited values that have been handed down though the genrations. These can become so much a part of our beief system, till they even become part of our DNA. These have a profound effect on how we ’see’ the world and how we create our worldview. He speaks of the boundaries of belief. Like when it was ‘taught’ that the world was flat…imagine the shift that had to happen for people when it was ‘discovered’ that the world wasn’t flat, but that it was round (and we are dicovering new world views everyday now at a super fast pace, we can hardly keep up with the spin).

This is what is happening on a global scale now. Our world view espeically in the financial sense is shifting rapidly. The laws that up to now worked to govern economics and how we live by them no longer apply. Something has shifted. It rarely shifts overnight though we may feel that this is what has happened. No, it has been gradually happening for some time now, but like in life in our own body, till the pain takes on a strong voice we ignore it.

Anyway the point here being that this is the incredible shift that we are having to make to survive these times. It doesn’t mean that it is all negative. On the contrary – the pain is pointing to the remedy once we pay attention to it’s message.

It is pointing us towards a new and more wholistic way of understanding ourselves and our role while we are here on the earth.

It is calling us more to personal responsiblity as against the invisibilty of the group. It si calling us to accountability. But again this need not be seen as negative. This is a call to move into our personal power (in the true meaning of the word – to take our place as against the old meaning that was ascribed to power meaning power over).
